Do You Need Hormone Therapy?

We had a great discussion with Dr. John Monacao covering the question “Do I Need Hormone Replacement Therapy?”

So, do you need Hormone replacement therapy?

The answer is “Probably” for reasons you never suspected. But you have to listen to find out.

We covered the whole story, discussing hormone therapy across the ages, especially the dangers associated with conventional prescription hormones vs. bio-identical hormones.

My special guest and medical expert did a fantastic job of answering specific questions about this controversial topic.

Dr. Monaco founded The Monaco Center for Health & Healing, LLC where he helps his patients achieve wellness and avoid the diseases of aging through a personalized program which encompasses hormone balancing, nutritional support, pharmaceutical grade supplements and nutrients, biofeedback and stress reduction. He has lectured on Bio-Identical Hormones to a wide audience including the Connecticut & Vermont Osteopathic Medical Societies, the local Chamber of Commerce and Women’s Events. He has been a guest on several local radio programs speaking on Anti-Aging Medicine and is a contributor to the Hartford and New London Women’s Journals.

Are Your Major Hormones in Balance? Insulin and Cortisol Balance

Many people do not realize the connection between hormones and between hormones and diet.  There are definite links between having balanced hormones and diet. One of the key links is the connection between insulin and cortisol.

Many people have gotten into some very bad habits that caused their diets to go off kilter. Back in the 1990s, people developed a fear of ingesting fat.  As a result, they turned to low-fat foods, in addition to things such as refined carbohydrates and simple sugars. This trend caused a major problem; and, it actually created a situation in which their bodies had to use a lot of insulin to balance all the sugar they were putting into their bloodstreams. It eventually got to the point where their bodies weren’t listening to the insulin and in fact became insulin resistant.  This is an ongoing problem. The effect:  The Obesity Epidemic. The HIDDEN Formula to Treat Fibromyalgia

Approximately 4% of the people in the United States are suffering from fibromyalgia syndrome. Although it can happen to anyone at any age, most of these patients are women in their late thirties or early forties. Fibromyalgia is considered a syndrome because it has several symptoms in addition to pain. The HIDDEN protocol should be used to treat chronic fatigue, pain, and the diagnosis of fibromyalgia. It’s very easy, and there isn’t a secret formula. According to Dr. Maria Sulindro, managing these symptoms simply requires remembering what HIDDEN stands for. Cholesterol – What it is and Why You Can’t Live Without it

Cholesterol is a waxy substance found among fats in the body. Despite bad publicity, cholesterol is necessary. It’s part of every cellular membrane in the body; we have over 100 trillion cells, and cholesterol is an integral part of that. It’s a large percentage of our brain tissue.

Cholesterol is used to synthesize our steroid hormones such as testosterone, estrogen, and progesterone. We also use cholesterol as a precursor to our stress hormones, such as cortisone, which raises the heart rate and make the muscles tense up. Cholesterol is also the precursor to vitamin D. It’s part of the nerves and part of the coating around our nerves, so it’s very integrated into the body.
