Welcome to Dr. Cynthia Shelby-Lane, MD Cynthia Shelby-Lane, MD, also known as "the agelessdoctor", is a graduate of the University of Michigan Medical School and Second City Comedy School in Chicago. She trained as a surgeon at the University of Texas in Houston. She practiced emergy medicine for over 23 years. As an emergency room physician, she handled life threatening emergencies at a Level One trauma center in Detroit, Michigan and she was the Director of Emergency Medicine at Hutzel Hospital for 10 years. Her experience of dealing with life and death crises in the emergency room allowed her to see and realize the limitations of traditional medicine. This led her to seek methods of prevention, holistic and integrative medicine, and now anti-aging medicine, before it was popular. She is board-certified in anti-aging, alternative and complementary medicine since 1997. She is also an oral board examiner for the American Academy of Anti-Aging, and is currently completing her fellowship and master's program in Functional and Anti-Aging Medicine. Her thesis is titled, "Laughter is Good Medicine". The foundation for the research paper will be based on current university studies, programs at cancer hospitals and cancer organizations, and interviews with top comedians and humorists. | ||||
